Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. West. 5. 36. NFC. Seattle Seahawks. player

Seattle Seahawks could go in multiple directions should they trade up to No. 3

Not to say the Seattle Seahawks are in the most advantageous position to move up, but let’s not rule that out entirely. Although they will have to pay a premium to do so, as the Cardinals are a division rival of theirs, Seattle could be in the market to draft a quarterback like Richardson or rip the best defensive prospect out of the Cardinals’ clutches. This is why trading up is not likely.

Once again, that doesn’t mean the Seahawks aren’t going to try. They may want Richardson as the long-term answer behind Geno Smith at quarterback. Richardson could be a bona fide superstar in Seattle. However, I think their moving up is all about getting their choice between Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. and Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter. These are two top-four talents.

Seattle may need a star player in the defensive front-seven, but Arizona does have to replace J.J. Watt, who just retired. In theory, both NFC West rivals could make a deal work. We did see the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings make two trades of note last year. A trade between the Cardinals and Seahawks likely puts Anderson in Arizona and Carter in Seattle at No. 5 and No. 3.

Seattle should be able to get a defensive star at No. 5, but may not have a choice in the matter.
