Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Tennessee Titans. 11. player. 35. AFC. South

Tennessee Titans may go for broke in a big trade with old friend Monti Ossenfort

There is a reason why the Tennessee Titans are about as far back as I would think a team could realistically trade up to No. 3 from. The Titans may have the No. 11 pick, but they could be in the market for a starting quarterback more than anyone thinks. Ryan Tannehill is not long for Nashville. Josh Dobbs was a cool story, while Malik Willis looked incredibly raw last NFL season.

Moving up eight spots would be a bold strategy, but Tennessee does know the new Cardinals general manager very well. They used to employ Ossenfort, who Arizona hired away from the Tennessee front office to replace Steve Keim. When new regimes take over in a rough spot like Arizona, those head coaches and executives look to do business with the faces that they know.

This is why teams picking as far back as the Eagles at No. 10, or even the Titans picking at No. 11, cannot be ruled out entirely in this equation. Tennessee would take Richardson in the hopes he can be a better version of Vince Young professionally. That didn’t work out so hot for the Titans back in the day, but you and I know as much about NFL offenses as their former coach Jeff Fisher.

By trading up to No. 3, the Titans are not going to be going 7-9, or end up on HBO’s Hard Knocks.
