Scouting Report. AFC. West. Las Vegas Raiders. Pick Analysis. 7. player. 28

Las Vegas Raiders are a logical trade partner if they want Anthony Richardson

Although the Las Vegas Raiders signed Jimmy Garoppolo to be their starting quarterback, he gets hurt every year. Perhaps more importantly, head coach Josh McDaniels needs to start winning games. He had a bad first year in Las Vegas, and people seem to have a hard time forgetting about his Denver Broncos disaster from a decade ago. This is why he needs to draft a rookie quarterback.

The move up from No. 7 to No. 3 would be to get Richardson, or potentially Stroud or Young if they were to somehow fall out of the top two. Any of those three quarterbacks would provide the Silver and Black some much-needed juiced heading whatever we want to call this rebuilding process. Truth be told, they could sit pat at No. 7 and take Will Levis, but that doesn’t sound like fun at all!

Because the Cardinals and Raiders are West Coast teams in opposite conferences, it is not going to be as punitive of a trade for Las Vegas to make if the Raiders were dealing with another AFC franchise. Since the Raiders are a long way away from winning games with great regularity in the brutal AFC West, they need to be at least interesting. A trade up to No. 3 would certainly do that.

By drafting a rookie quarterback, McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler will buy some time.
