MLB Rumors: The Cardinals should trade for Tim Anderson

The Cardinals will be active at the trade deadline. While the Cardinals have shortstop options in Paul DeJong, Tommy Edman, and in the minors with Masyn Winn, Anderson would be an exciting addition.

Anderson could be the jolt the Cardinals must get by this trade deadline to make improvements as it would allow the team to trade pieces to send for improved starting pitching. Any pitching the Cards can get is badly needed, as they desperately need to improve in this area for a couple of seasons now.

If things were to work out, Anderson would be a good mentor for Masyn Winn as he makes his way to the St. Louis roster.
