Atlanta Falcons 7-Round 2024 NFL Mock Draft after signing Kirk Cousins
By Sam Penix
Round 4, Pick 108 - Cedric Gray, LB, North Carolina
Atlanta has a pair of quality starting linebackers in Kaden Elliss and Nate Landman (plus 2022 second-rounder Troy Andersen, who has struggled with both injuries and performance), but Gray would be a solid depth addition here with the potential to develop into a starter. He logged 365 tackles over the past three seasons and tested well at the NFL Combine. He could contribute on special teams and then perhaps take over for Elliss in the future.
Round 5, Pick 142 - Jacob Cowing, WR, Arizona
Cowing is just 5-8, 168 pounds, but he is also extremely quick and fast, and racked up nearly 4,500 receiving yards and 33 touchdowns over his collegiate career. He could prove to be simply too small for the NFL, but it's worth a fifth-round pick to see if his athletic ability can translate. He'd start out behind Drake London and Darnell Mooney at the very least, and perhaps he could form a rapport with Cousins as a slot target.
Round 6, Pick 196 - Garret Greenfield, OT, South Dakota State
Greenfield is the ultimate developmental tackle prospect. He could benefit from adding mass to his 6-5, 311-pound frame, and he set the NFL Combine record for the OT vertical jump at 38.5 inches and his athletic ability is evident on film. Perhaps in a year or two, he'd be ready for a starting role to succeed either Jake Matthews or Kaleb McGary.
With this draft class, the Falcons would improve their offensive depth and add some core foundational pieces to their defense, both building for the future and bolstering their roster to be competitive with Kirk Cousins as their signal-caller.
