There was a small Twitter war started last night between Mike Florio and Jason LaCanfora over who will be interviewing Andy Reid on Wednesday and Thursday for vacant head coaching positions. LaCanfora reported (rather smugly) that he was told Reid is heading to Arizona on Thursday, while Florio basically told him he’s an amateur and that Reid’s agent leaked Wednesday as the date of the interview.

It turns out both were right and both were wrong at the same time. While Reid does have an interview on Wednesday, it appears that it’s going to be with the Kansas City Chiefs while the Cardinals interview is set to happen after that, if it even happens at all.

Chris Mortensen from ESPN was the voice of reason (probably while laughing his ass off at the cat fight Florio and LaCanfora were in), reporting today the news that Reid will be interviewed by both the Chiefs and the Cardinals. Yesterday, LaCanfora and others stopped short of reporting that Reid was all but a done deal in Arizona, but news that the Chiefs are now an option thickens the plot.

One interesting aspect of this is that if Reid comes to town, that might mean the end of general manager Scott Pioli, a guy the Chiefs have on some serious probation at the moment. Reid could be a guy that either gets general manager duties in addition to head coaching duties, but he’s most likely going to hand pick a new G.M. wherever he lands.
