The SEC once again proved that they are at the top of the college football world, when the Alabama Crimson Tide rolled over Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship. It was the seventh year in a row that the national champions came from the Southeastern Conference.

One of those SEC teams who have hopes for a championship in 2013 is the Georgia Bulldogs.

With quarterback Aaron Murray returning for his senior season, the Bulldogs seem poised to make another run at the SEC title and national championship. Georgia head coach Mark Richt says that the Bulldogs will once again be among the elite teams in the nation — at least that is their plan.

We plan on being that. We hope to be that. We’ve got to earn that. Know one really knew what was going to happen this past season,” said Richt.

“There were some big question marks a year ago, mostly offensively and offensive line probably more so than any other position, and running back as well. That’s all I answered questions on by the end of the year they came through. So more questions will asked of the defensive side of the ball this year. So those guys have to do their thing and be able to come through.”

Georgia will face a rough road in 2013 thanks to a tough SEC schedule and non-conference opponent Clemson. If Georgia can get through the difficult schedule, they will unquestionably be a top-ranked team in the nation.

The Bulldogs will be aiming for a return to the top and Richt has the team motivated to accomplish that goal. Now, can they do it?
