It is another offseason and Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt is once again in trouble with the law. Britt is wanted for questioning by police after dropping a friend off at the hospital who was stabbed. Earlier today, Britt released a statement through an “anonymous spokesman” that said the trouble wide receiver is cooperating with police. Here is the bizarre statement:

"Kenny was leaving a dinner cooked by his friends’ parents – it was not a house party – when he found his friend, who had left earlier, injured outside. Kenny immediately brought his friend to the hospital and was there with the injured friend’s family for several hours, but was not otherwise involved in the incident. Kenny’s brother was not injured (and wasn’t even there) and Kenny has made himself available to cooperate with the authorities investigation of this matter."

Britt’s statement caused more questions than answers after no one associated with Britt’s management team acknowledged playing a part in the release of the statement.

Even worse for Britt is the fact that Jersey City Police Captain Edgar Martinez contradicts Britt’s statement and says “At this point he is still not cooperating with police.  So whatever statement he puts out is false.”

The authorities went on to call for any information regarding Britt’s whereabouts.

“We are asking anyone who has info of his whereabouts to contact us and that includes the owner of the Titans,” the police said, per Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.

Hopefully Britt comes forward and speaks to authorities soon or he will only find himself in more trouble. His offseason is already off to an eventful start and at this rate he could be in for another meeting at the league office and suspension courtesy of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
