Super Bowl XLVII Betting Odds: San Francisco 49ers Down To 4 Point Favorites

Immediately after the Super Bowl XLVII matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens was set, the betting lines were open and San Francisco opened up as a 5.5 point favorite in some outlets.

Over the course of the next few hours, the lines fluctuated between five and 4.5 points. Now, the online books and Vegas odds appear to be settling.

According to Bovada, the 49ers are currently a four point favorite.

“Looking back at this NFL season, it has been very strange for the book. We might have had our best start to an NFL season ever and then Week 9 was the worst NFL week for us that I have ever seen, so Baltimore winning twice as double digit underdogs against Manning and Brady does not surprise me,” said Bovada’s sportsbook manager Kevin Bradley.

“However, Baltimore cost us on the weekend and are the only big loser for the book on our Super Bowl odds. Despite the bettors being enamored with Kaepernick over his last five starts, the Ravens covering all three playoff games easily has 60% of the bettors siding with Baltimore early on in the week.”

The lines will continue to change as more people put money on the Ravens with the points, but San Francisco is still a clear favorite in Vegas and online.

Kaepernick has the tightest spiral in the game. Gets there in a wink. Tough to cover for a DB when delivery arrives that early. If they decide to play their tightest coverage then the running backs get the daylight, or the QB himself on a run.
I would like to see that happen, Kaepernick tucking and taking off especially for the score, then this one should be wrapped midway 3rd.
