There is no denying that TNT announcer Sir Charles Barkley is one of the most entertaining analysts in the business and he continues to deliver gems every time he is giving a platform to speak. Last week’s conference call from TNT was no exception when Barkley was able to steal the show by promoting NBA All-Star weekend and putting the Los Angeles Lakers on blast.

The Lakers had zero chance of making the playoffs before those guys got hurt. Now, it’s negative 17. They got no chance of making the playoffs. If I’m buying stock, I am buying the Houston Rockets and dumping the Lakers,” Barkley said when asked about the Lakers playoff chances.

Barkley wasn’t done just yet. He chimed in on his pick for NBA Coach of the Year saying, “”[Phil Jackson’s] my coach of the year for not taking the Lakers job.”

Luckily for all NBA fans, Barkley will be all over television during All-Star Weekend during TNT’s coverage. He will also be a part of the weekend’s Rising Stars Challenge when he coaches opposite Shaquielle O’Neal.

“This All-Star Game is always fun because out of all the all-star games in sports, the baseball game is not that much fun, the Pro Bowl is not that much fun — you can’t play football for fake — but we do a great job of celebrating the NBA history,” Barkley said. “You walk around and you see the great Bill Russell and you’ll see Moses (Malone), you’ll see Doc (Julius Erving), you’ll see Oscar (Robertson), you see Jerry West. It is a really cool weekend.”

If you didn’t already appreciate Barkley for the entertaining analyst he is, be sure to tune in to All-Star weekend and prepare yourself for what Chuck is going to say next. With Sir Charles, it is never scripted and we are always just seconds away from the latest gem that is sure to go viral.
