Deadspin published a story on Tuesday morning that included audio from a phone conversation between Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix and Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik. The phone call included discussions about the team’s free agents, potential trades, frustration with the league rules and more.

Nix even dropped the news that he views Ryan Fitzpatrick a back up and that the Bills are “handcuffed” by Fitzpatrick’s contract.

Now, the Buffalo Bills have responded with a statement:

"“We are aware of the report on Deadspin involving a phone conversation with Bills GM Buddy Nix. We have made the league aware of the report and are reviewing it with legal counsel.”"

This could be bad news for the pranksters that started the entire conversation between Nix and Dominik. The pair could certainly face legal troubles, but that may not compare to the public embarrassment that the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers organizations are facing.

We wonder how long it will be before the Buccaneers decide to follow the Bills lead and release a statement of their own.
