The San Francisco 49ers are putting on the full court press when it comes to the free agent players they have been in contact with. Most recently, the 49ers have opened serious negotiations with former Pro Bowl defensive backs Charles Woodson and Nnamdi Asomugha. If the 49ers can reunite the two former first-round pick of the Oakland Raiders, it will go a long way in boosting their secondary and making up for the loss of DaShon Goldson.

The amount of hype that would come the 49ers way would be unbearable. Without question, the 49ers would become the paper champs and the clear favorites to win the Super Bowl and there would be no reason to question that.

Adding big name free agents hasn’t worked for teams in the past, but for a team like San Francisco, that is coming off of a Super Bowl appearance and already a team on the rise, adding former Pro Bowlers and a future Hall of Famer can do nothing but help your chances to return to the big game.
