Tiger Woods, Lindsey Vonn Facebook Announcement Confirms Relationship

There have been numerous rumors that golf superstar Tiger Woods and American ski racer Lindsey Vonn were in a relationship and now they have been confirmed. It wasn’t a link from TMZ or any of the other low-life celebrity gossip magazines that leaked the news. It wasn’t an hour-long special on ESPN to announce their decision. No, it was none other than Woods and Vonn announcing the news themselves on social media.

Yes. Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn are Facebook official. How cute. And I can now confirm Tiger has a strange obsession with blondes.

They newly official couple decided to make brief statements on their Facebook pages before showing off their ridiculous professionally shot photos that resembled the photos your family has hanging on the walls with your parents and siblings all wearing matching sweaters.

This was Tiger Woods’ statement:

"This season has been great so far and I’m happy with my wins at Torrey and Doral. Something nice that’s happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating. We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."

Lindsey Vonn answered with a statement of her own:

"I guess it wasn’t a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods. Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy. I don’t plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support! xo LV"

Now, on to the main event. These adorably staged, endorsement promoting professionally shot images. Nice product placement, Eldrick.

Has there ever been a relationship announcement that has come across as such a desperate cry for attention in the past? If there is, I can’t recall it. But hey, if the two are happy, good for them.

However, I am not buying this as more than a publicity stunt unless they make it past Thanksgiving without an incident. You’re on, Tiger.
