Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is a very rich man after getting his new deal that will pay him $17 million a year. The deal has been criticized because the lack of achievements the Cowboys have accomplished with Romo at the helm, and now one of Romo’s teammates is saying that it’s time to live up to the money and take this team to the next level.

Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware was speaking on Sirius XM NFL Radio when he said it’s time for Romo to “put up or shut up.”

“I feel like everybody is deserving to whatever is given to him, but at the end of the day, to me it’s put up or shut up,” Ware said, via the Dallas Morning News.

“I’m just being straight-up honest with you. Get out there and be productive, and that’s with any player. Whatever they get, they’re deserving of it. You just got to get out there and play and I know he can be and will be the quarterback that is going to be the quarterback that is going to take us to the next level.”

Romo can start by leading the team to the playoffs and then getting a few wins under his belt.

If the quarterback can’t improve on the field and take this team to the next level, then Jerry Jones’ big money investment won’t look like cash well spent.

Demarcus Ware is absolutely right, the time is NOW!!! What Romo has to do is leave all that golf crap alone in the off season and start concentrating on football and yes even in the off season, as soon as he picks up a set off golf clubs instead of a football people are going to be like here we go again, “Same old Romo. ” Troy Aikman ate slept football even during the offseason. Look at the kid from San Francisco Collin Kapernick, a week after they lost the Superbowl he wanted him and his teammates to start practicing to get ready for the next season. Romo has all the intangibles to be great but there seems to be something that doesn’t click within, whatever it is he must tap deep inside and asend to the QB Jerry Jones believes he could be and the few Cowboy fans. Yes it’s tough being the QB of America’s Team but if you can’t take the heat then let someone that can.
