Mike Glennon, the NC State quarterback who’s been all over mock drafts for the past few months, is reportedly a target for the Buffalo Bills. According to Bills reporter and announcer Sal Capaccio, Buffalo is still “fairly high” on Glennon but that doesn’t mean that the team will be making any deals to trade up and get him if he comes off the board early.

The Buffalo Bills signed Kevin Kolb this offseason, but it appears as though that hardly did anything to satisfy their hunger for an answer at the position. It’s long been believed that the Bills were looking at a quarterback high in the draft later this month, but just because Kolb is in town doesn’t mean they aren’t still thinking quarterback — they’re just thinking mid-round quarterback.

Mike Glennon is a guy who has seen his value bounce all over the chart. He’s been mocked as high as seventh overall to the Cardinals and as low as the third round, so while the Bills are thinking mid-round quarterback, they’d better think higher if the reports they’re interested in Glennon hold water. He’s an interesting pick for the Bills, as Glennon isn’t the most mobile quarterback in the draft but he’s shown he’s got a decent football I.Q., and it’s yet to be seen which attribute will be more valuable in Doug Marrone’s new system.

Still, the fact of the matter remains that the Bills aren’t sold with what they have under center, even after signing Kolb. This both shows that the Bills are serious about winning in the long term and recognize that they can’t bandage their problems with so-so free agent signings. It will be interesting to see what happens, but it’s starting to look like not if the Bills will take a quarterback in the draft but who and where?
