While the majority belief is that the 2013 NFL Draft does not include the most impressive group of quarterback prospects, there is at least one team that has been impressed with what they have seen. The New York Jets scouting director, Jeff Bauer, believes that this class is more impressive that people are giving it credit for.

To be fair, this is the team that has Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, so everything should be taken with a grain of salt.

“There’s some good quarterbacks out there, you can see a lot of these guys coming in and playing and having very successful careers,” Bauer said.

“Obviously we’ve studied the quarterback class and still are studying the quarterback class. Obviously we can’t say where our quarterbacks are ranked, that wouldn’t be prudent of us, but there are some quarterbacks who will come out and play in this league, and they’re going to start. If that’s at the No. 9 pick, we can’t say.”

The Jets have certainly been looking in to the quarterback class throughout the entire draft process. The team has visited with Geno Smith, E.J. Manuel, Matt Barkley, Zac Dysert, Ryan Nassib and Mike Glennon.

We will find out exactly how much the Jets like the 2013 quarterback class next week.

Could they like the group enough to select a first-round pick from the bunch? That is a highly unlikely case, but the Jets could very well be in the market for a young signal caller at the top of round two.
