The St. Louis Rams will be  looking to add a wide receiver early in the 2013 NFL Draft and one name that has continuously been connected to the team is former Clemson Tigers wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins was in a bit of hot water last week when his name was attached to a hotel room that was trashed at the scouting combine, but that doesn’t appear to be scaring off teams early in the draft.

St. Louis is believed to have their top choice down to Hopkins and Tavon Austin, but the belief is Austin could be long gone by the time the Rams are on the board.

With that news, it should be no surprise that the Rams are doing their due diligence and looking long and hard in the Hopkins as a player.

Per Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun:

St. Louis interest in Hopkins is very clear.

A lot of teams are throwing up smoke screens this time of year, but this is a case of legitimate interest in a polished wide receiver who can contribute from day one.

Hopkins has drawn comparisons to San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Anquan Boldin. If he can have that kind of success, the Rams would be very happy with their selection and a mid first-round pick would be justified.
