It is clear that the Buffalo Bills are looking to add a quarterback in the early rounds of the 2013 NFL Draft. Whether the quarterback is Ryan Nassib, Matt Barkley, Geno Smith or E.J. Manuel remains to be seen.

Earlier in day, there were reports that the Bills were worried the New York Jets could attempt to poach Ryan Nassib if the team did not select him with the No. 8 overall pick. Now, it is possible that those rumblings were nothing more than pre-draft smokescreens.

The latest buzz seems to be that the Bills are very interested in former USC quarterback Matt Barkley.

Here is the message that got folks talking on social media:

This goes along with everything that we have been hearing leading up to the draft with the Bills pick possibly coming down to Nassib or Barkley.

The ties with Nassib are obvious, but there must be something about Barkley that is getting the Bills front office excited. If they were to use the No. 8 pick on the Southern Cal standout, that would likely be perceived as much less of a reach than Nassib at the same position.

We will see whether or not the Bills actually go quarterback with the No. 8 pick in just over 24 hours, but the drama surrounding the quarterback position in this year’s draft is certainly high.
