The greatest basketball player of all-time is, once again, a married man.

Michael Jordan tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, 35-year-old Yvette Prieto on Saturday in Palm Beach, Florida, and the reported guest list was wildly impressive. Tiger Woods, Patrick Ewing, and Spike Lee were among the 300-or-so attendees to the wedding, and after five years of courtship, all reports were that the wedding was as big as you would think.

In addition to the crew of guests, Usher and Robin Thicke were both reportedly used as musical entertainment, and the facility in which they held the reception (the Bear’s Club, which was designed by Jack Nicklaus) was fit for an event with this type of stature. I can only imagine the party that takes place when “the Greatest” is in charge, and when the occasion is wedding, I would imagine that the roof would be coming off of the building.

There are several jokes about his ability to own and manage an NBA team (read: the Bobcats are a mess), but there is no denying the past and present role of Michael Jordan in the culture of the NBA. It is certainly newsworthy whenever MJ does anything, and tying the knot apparently falls into that perspective, as much as inking a college free-agent will in July. Best of luck to the newlyweds.
