There is still hope among Chicago Bulls fans, including this one right here, that superstar point guard Derrick Rose will return this season and somehow save the Bulls. But with their backs up against the wall in a decisive Game 7 this Saturday against the Brooklyn Nets, the Chicago Bulls and their fans can stop counting on the improbable to occur, as there is “no indication” that Derrick Rose will rise and return.

Rose’s continued absence is drawing more and more criticism from fans who want to see him return. The frustration is stemming from the fact that Rose has been medically cleared to play, and has been for roughly a month now. But the former MVP is refusing to play until he can get his head straight and isn’t afraid to take the court.

In Rose’s words, he’s waiting until he’s “mentally there”, but that translates to he’s waiting until the Vietnam-like flashbacks to his ACL shredding to pieces don’t surface every time he enters the paint.

At this point, any hope and subsequent disappointment felt by Bulls fans wanting to see Rose out on the court is self-inflicted. It would be nice if Rose returned and there’s not a more epic stage than a Game 7 of an NBA Playoffs series, but it’s looking like Rose really will just be collecting a check for the 2013 season and doing little more than that.

However, being the ignorant Bulls fans that we are, the hope now shifts to a possible Derrick Rose return for a series against he Heat, as the grandeur doesn’t get more epic than that.
