A move that we all seemed to know was coming finally took place on Monday afternoon. The Minnesota Vikings parted ways with outspoken punter and social media star Chris Kluwe. The writing had been on the wall that this move was coming, but now we no longer have to wonder.

Kluwe said his goodbye to the Vikings and their fans on Twitter Monday afternoon:

It is hard to wonder whether or not Kluwe being so outspoken had something to do with the team’s decision to part ways with him, but we all knew this was coming whenever Minnesota spent a fifth-round pick on a punter in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Kluwe will likely find new work very soon and, when he does, he will be able to immediately provide a boost to the community and level of talent on the team’s roster.
