The Detroit Lions come in to 2012 with high expectations, but they failed to impress. Luckily for the fans, it looks like the team is coming in to this year with a lot of confidence and plans to do something they have never done before. Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley was speaking to the media and he let us all in on his belief that the Lions will make it to the Super Bowl this season.

I expect big things,” Fairley told the Detroit News. “I am going to say we are going to the Super Bowl because I am competitive and that is what I want for the team and it is one of the goals. I am sure we are going to take it game by game and day by day.”

Fairley continued to express his expectation of “big things” and he says the team is coming together nicely.

“I expect big things,” Fairley said. “We picked up some good guys in the draft. It is going to be up to us (players) to getting the chemistry up to where we can play off each other. We are going to do some big things this year.”

After a disappointing season in 2012, the only “big things” the Lions should expect would be finishing higher than fourth in the division.
