Geno Smith Gives Himself an F on First Day of New York Jets Rookie Minicamp
By Josh Sanchez
New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith was working during his first day of rookie minicamp and it didn’t come easy for him. Smith is expected to compete for the starting job, but he came out struggling and looking uneasy on every throw.
The performance from Smith was bad enough that he gave himself an F grade, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
That sounds a little harsh, just how bad was his first performance? Rich Cimini of ESPN New York had the details:
Okay. That isn’t exactly impressive, but it is important to remember he is a rookie and this is his very first practice.
The harsh reality for Smith is that every performance he gives from here on out is going to be overanalyzed by the media thanks to being a part of the New York market. If he continues to perform like this, it is going to be rough to gain the fans support.
Let’s hope Smith can perform a little better in his next practice and at least earn a D-.
