When Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Melky Cabrera isn’t having his friends “unknowingly” build fake websites to hide his steroid use, he’s apparently finding odd ways to put on eye black.

The 28-year-old Santo Domingo native was captured by @woedoctor today rocking some paint that even Bryce Harper might be envious of.

Eye black, of course, is a is a grease applied under the eyes to reduce glare, so it makes complete and total sense that Cabrera decided to apply his to the ends of his beard? Wait, what?

In addition to @woedoctor spotting Melky’s oddity, Dave Brown of Yahoo Sports fame also got a glimpse of Cabrera’s unique war paint after a few hours of heat and sweat began to lessen the caked on grease. Instead of an add-on to his beard as it originally appeared, now the melted paraffin and carbon looks like a lightning bolt down the side of his face. Impressive.

Obviously, Cabrera was that kid who refused to color inside the lines.

Coloring ability aside, it isn’t all bad for the “Melk Man” as Cabrera will be awarded his 2012 World Series ring this coming Tuesday when the San Francisco Giants make their lone trip across the border.

Maybe he’ll draw a syringe on his face for the party.
