Tiger Woods came in to the final round of the 2013 Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass atop the leaderboard and he finishes off the day and the tournament with the win. Woods and Sergio Garcia were neck and neck throughout the tournament, but an epic collapse from Garcia on the seventeenth hole took him out of contention.
Garcia sent two shots in to the drink and ended the hole with a quadruple bogey that dropped him to nine-under par.
25-year-old rookie David Lingmerth had a chance to get his share of the lead on the final hole, but the pressure was too much for the Swede. Woods went on to win the tournament with a score of thirteen-under par.
It was the second Players Championship win over his career, with the first coming back in 2001.
With the win, Tiger Woods has reached four PGA wins this year quicker than any other time in his career.
