Boston Celtics Terrence Williams Arrested For Making Threat With Gun

Coming out of the University of Louisville, Terrence Williams was one of the most talented players in the 2009 NBA draft. Still, despite his vast talent, the Seattle native fell to the New Jersey Nets who selected the troubled Cardinal with the 11th overall pick.

Riddled with red flags, Williams lived up to his volatile reputation as a member of the Nets where he was quickly dispatched to the NBA’s D-League during his sophomore season, not due to his lack of ability, but to his lack of personal control.

Williams eventually made his way to Houston where his struggles continued before landing in Sacramento where the swingman put up impressive stats and solid contributions both on and off the court, all be it for less than twenty games.

With Sacramento opting to not bring him back, Williams eventually secured a deal with the Boston Celtics more than halfway through this season where it looked like, combined with his pit stop in Sacramento, Williams finally ditched the stigma that had haunted him for so long.

Then this happened.

According to Chris Daniels of KING TV in Seattle, the Rainier Beach High School star was arrested today after making threats with a gun during a child visitation.

Per Daniels:

"JUST IN: NBA player, Former Rainier Beach HS star, Terrence Williams, arrested by Kent Police & accused of making threats with gun.Kent Police say Williams was arrested this afternoon. PD says T. Williams waved gun during scheduled child visitation, and made threats."

As in any case, there are two sides to every story, but for Williams’ sake, you hope it’s not another smudge on an already iffy track record, with this topping the list.

UPDATE:

"More: A Kent Police detective says Terrence Williams is currently in custody, and will be booked into the King County Jail."
