Veteran free agent defensive back Charles Woodson has been looking for a new team all offseason and he has finally returned to a place that he used to call home. The future Hall of Famer has agreed to a contract with the Oakland Raiders, who made him a top five pick in the 1998 NFL Draft. Woodson was coming off of a Heisman Trophy campaign at Michigan when he joined the NFL and he now has a chance to finish his career where he started.

The Raiders sent out a photo of Woodson signing his contract Tuesday evening on social media:

Many believed that Woodson would be looking to join a contender, but his deal with Oakland removes any of those beliefs.

Woodson will go down as one of the best defensive backs to ever play the game and it is rare that someone gets an opportunity to finish their career where they started.

It will be interesting to see how much of a contributor Woodson can be for the team on the field in 2013.
