Chuck Norris has somewhat of a cult following and has become a pop culture icon thanks to — well actually I have absolutely no idea how it happened but I’m sure there’s a Chuck Norris joke out there that explains it. Out of the complete blue, Norris has re-emerged as an American folk hero and he’s reaching out to support anotherguy who’s been built up in the same, cult like way he has.

That’s right, Chuck Norris is a member of Tebow-mania.

In perhaps the most bizare yet awesome thing to ever be published on the internet, Chuck Norris stepped up and defended Tim Tebow in an online essay in which he called the former New York Jets punt protector “the ultimate clutch player”.

"“I’ve heard the so-called critics say Tebow has poor technical skills, but the truth is that Tim is a natural-born leader, an amazingly gifted football player, an inspiration to his team and the possessor of intense determination and strategy to bring any team to victory – no matter what the odds. One can improve technique, but leadership is innate. That is why I believe Tebow could be a super star and legend in the NFL.”– Chuck Norris"

Norris also somehow connected UFC fighter Georges St. Pierre to Tebow as well, saying the fighter is his favorite among active UFC warriors. But the meat and potatoes of the piece is Norris’ stout defense of Tim Tebow, which only builds up the mythos of Tebow and gives his followers a massive bunt object to ward off critics with.

Not that Norris has any credit to make a reasonable defense of Tebow, but he sort of hits on something when he talks about leadership. The most important question we all need to ask ourselves now is, perhaps Chuck Norris isn’t defending Tim Tebow because he feels bad for him — perhaps Chuck Norris is Tim Tebow.

Mind. Blown.
