Zlatan Ibrahimovic himself maintains that he will respect the terms of his current contract with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, but that hasn’t stopped him from changing clubs in the past. The Swedish striker is now being linked with several different clubs, including Manchester City and Chelsea.

Since joining the ambitious project that is PSG last summer, Ibrahimovic has already left his mark on French footall. He has lifted PSG back to domestic supremacy, and even had FC Barcelona on their heels when the two teams met in the quarter-final of Champions League.

Zlatan was the highest-scoring player in Ligue 1 by a mile, finding the back of the net 29 times. As the competition in France was clearly below his level, Ibrahimovic could very well end his tenure with PSG after just one year of service.

The French champions are rumored to have their crosshairs set on Wayne Rooney of Manchester United. The fact that another star might be making his way to Paris could potentially entice Ibrahimovic to stick around, but it could also mean that the team would be more willing to listen to offers for the always outspoken Swede.

Ibrahimovic himself told Swedish media that, while he still has a contract with PSG, you never know what can happen in what is likely to be a crazy transfer window. While Zlatan has been most comfortable playing in Italy, many have wanted to see how well he could cope playing in a gritty atmosphere that the Premier League has to offer. The only two teams that could potentially satisfy Ibrahimovic’s salary demands in England would be Chelsea and Manchester City.

While City is already stacked with high quality forwards, Chelsea remains a very interesting option, were they to pursue Ibrahimovic. Jose Mourinho, who is set take over the manager duties of the London club next season, is already familiar with Ibrahimovic from their time in Inter Milan, and a potential reunion is certainly within realm of possibility.

Regardless of whether Ibrahimovic ends up staying in Paris or packs his bags and takes his talents elsewhere, one thing is certain — we are in for a very interesting transfer window.
