Football and basketball dominate the college sports landscape but there’s a deep tradition when it comes to college baseball and an even deeper one when you talk about college softball. The NCAA Women’s College World Series kicks off this weekend and this year promises to be better than any we’ve seen before. The World Series will be an emotional one due also to the fact that it’s being held in Oklahoma City, not far from the site of the devastating tornadoes that ravaged the area earlier this month.

Oklahoma happens to be the top seed in this year’s bracket and are essentially playing on home soil as ASA Hall of Fame Stadium is roughly a half-hour away from the Sooner campus. They’re the favorites coming into the tournament but they may not end up coming out on top.

The tournament runs all weekend with the championship game taking place on Monday night. But we’ve got all the information you need to know to catch the action on the tournaments first day.
