Ronde Barber to Appear as Analyst For FOX Sports

Retired Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive back Ronde Barber seemed like a natural fit for television following his NFL career, and that is exactly the path that he is going to take now that his playing days are over. Ronde’s brother, Tiki, left the sport and ended up as an analyst for CBS Sports Radio and now Ronde will be on the air as well. Ronde’s agent, Mark Lepselter, confirmed to The Big Lead that his client would be joining FOX Sports.
“Ronde is excited to be joining the network,”his agent said.
The plans for Barber’s role with the network have not been announced, but it is expected that he will be serving as an on-air analyst for the new network FOX Sports 1, which is set to debut in August. Donovan McNabb and Trevor Pryce have also reportedly been contacted by FOX Sports.
FOX Sports 1 is going to be the new 24-hour and hopes are that it will rival ESPN.
With the recent turn ESPN has made from reliable sports coverage to gossip magazine style and the sensationalism on their early morning production, it may not be too hard for the network to make a positive impression on real sports fans.
