Dwight Howard will be a free agent this summer, and while the Los Angeles Lakers hope to retain their highly coveted free agent, the big man will be considering every single available option.

As Alex Kennedy says in his Tweet, Howard will be taking his time in order to make the right decision for himself. The Lakers will not be getting any special treatment and Dwight intends to meet with all the teams that will be actively seeking to sign him.

While Howard will presumably avoid announcing his decision on national television, his free agency reminds of the craze that surrounded LeBron James when he was a free agent. A lot of teams were pulling LeBron to their side, trying to convince him that signing with them would be the right decision to make, and Howard is now in a similar situation.

Dwight is obviously in the driver’s seat, and he is seemingly leaning towards the Houston Rockets. According to Kennedy’s sources, Howard has already spoken to the team’s superstar, James Harden, and also Chandler Parsons. Furthermore, the Rockets are actively looking to trade Thomas Robinson in order to free up enough cap space to offer Dwight a max contract.
