It has been rumored for a while that the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to swing some deals before the 2013 NBA draft. Ever since the team won the draft lottery, a lot of doors opened for the team and there are several deals that could be made. The Cavs are reportedly interested in Sacramento Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins, but could also deal for another player — Isaiah Thomas.

Thomas was drafted 60th — the last pick in the draft — in 2011, but has since then proven to be a decent point guard. Despite being just 5-foot-9, Thomas is a quick guard who can spread the floor and score the basketball. This season, he averaged 13.9 points, four assists and two rebounds per game, starting in 62 out of 79 games he played in.

According to News Herald, the Cavaliers could be interested:

"One unconfirmed rumor that’s surfaced is the Kings offering point guard Isaiah Thomas to the Cavs for the No. 19 pick."

At this point, it is just a rumor, but the Cavaliers would probably love this deal. Cleveland’s backup point guard, Shaun Livingston, is an unrestricted free agent this summer and Thomas could be a cheap replacement. Thomas has a team-option for next season will be owed less than $1 million, so he definitely provides value for money. The 19th pick is not really worth quite that much, but if the deal does happen and the Cavaliers want to keep Thomas around longer than one season, they would likely have to pay him a lot more than his current rookie deal.
