Patrick Ewing will be meeting with the Charlotte Bobcats, and potentially with the Sacramento Kings, in order to discuss a lead assistant position with the teams, according to CSSNW.

The Bobcats recently hired a new head coach in Steve Clifford, and he has a good relationship with Ewing:

“Charlotte is a great city and I’m open-minded,” Ewing told CSNNW.com. “I have worked with Steve for many years in Houston and Orlando and I consider him to be a friend. We’ll see what they are looking for and see if it’ll be a good fit.”

Another team that has a new coach and is looking for an assistant is the Kings. Mike Malone was recently introduced, and according to the report, Sacramento reached out to Ewing to see whether he is interested in entering discussions. However, no formal interview has been scheduled as of yet. An important factor in Ewing’s decision will be how he feels the team could utilize his strengths as a coach.

This season Ewing took a break from coaching but he has previously been an assistant with the Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets and Orlando Magic.
