Ray Allen has had a decent first year with the Miami Heat and has been an instrumental part of the team’s success in his role off the bench. However, Allen is yet to make a decision on whether he will wear a Heat uniform next season.

According to Gary Washburn’s Twitter, Allen will be addressing his future in Miami after the NBA Finals. The greatest 3-point shooter of all time signed a two-year contract with the reigning champions last summer, but has a player option worth just over $3.2 million for next season.

Recent rumors have said that Allen would consider coming back to the Boston Celtics and ending his career there, but that seems highly improbable at this point.

Allen left the Celtics as a free agent. In his last year with Boston, Allen struggled with injuries and finished the season coming off the bench behind Avery Bradley. The Celtics also went on to sign Jason Terry, which led Allen to turn down a bigger contract and contend for a championship elsewhere.

This regular season Allen averaged 10.9 points per game and shot 41.9 percent from beyond the 3-point line.
