Dick Vitale has been know to be very loud and speak his mind. He doesn’t speak his mind in the way others do where it’s a negative thing, rather when Dickie V is feeling something, he lets you know about it. One thing he was feeling watching Game 1 of the NBA Finals was San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker’s performance. So naturally he tweeted Parker’s ex-wife Eva Longoria to let her know how awesome he is.

Vitale’s tweet was in response to Longoria tweeting that she was picking the Spurs to win the NBA Finals in five games. So it’s not like Vitale was unprovoked in tweeting the actress, he just was really excited to let Longoria know that the guy she used to be married to is an awesome basketball player.

To his credit, Vitale isn’t wrong in his assessment of Parker. So far this postseason the Spurs guard has been having a blast tearing through the competition and looking like the MVP of the playoffs. He may not be the best guard in the NBA but Tony Parker is putting on his best Derrick Rose hero impression for the Spurs so far and it’s been working brilliantly.

What didn’t work was his marriage to Longoria and we all have Vitale to thank for awkwardly bringing that back up.

Thanks Dick.
