The NBA Draft is right around the corner and while most NBA fans are focused on the NBA Finals, most teams and executives have centered their attention on making their teams like the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs. One way to get that good is to find talent and the Sacramento Kings are working out six players on Monday they hope can take them to the next level.

According to Sacramento Bee reporter Jason Jones, UCLA star Shabazz Muhammad headlines a list of six players working out for the team on Monday.

Jones reports that Minnesota Gophers standout and lottery hopeful Trevor Mbakwe will also be joining the workout as one of the six players the Kings have called in.

But as Jones points out, the biggest name on the list of players scheduled to come in is Shabazz Muhammad who is seeing his draft stock fly all over the place in the weeks leading up to the draft. Once regarded as a top pick and most mocks at one time having Muhammad going to either the Detroit Pistons at 7th overall or the Minnesota Timberwolves at 9th overall, Chad Ford currently has the UCLA forward going 16th overall to the Boston Celtics — which is outside of the draft lottery.

But for Muhammad, it’s encouraging that the Kings, who pick 6th overall, are calling him in for a workout and given the topsy-turvy status of his stock, he’s likely going to take full advantage of making himself look good for other teams in the lottery.
