New England Patriots Could Steal Ahmad Bradshaw Away from Colts
By Josh Hill
It certainly seems like a good day to talk about the New England Patriots. After making waves by singing free agent Tim Tebow on Monday, it would appear the Patriots are not done sticking their fingers in as many pies as they can in order to get the best possible team they can. While there are reports that Tim Tebow could be an H-Back for the Patriots, according to Mike Florio the team “could get involved” with free agent running back Ahmad Bradshaw.
Bradshaw made his name with the New York Giants after the team was coming off the dual success of Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward. Bradshaw became the feature back for the Giants and had success until injuries shortened his 2012 campaign and gave Andre Brown a chance to prove himself a useful starter.
He’s been out of a job since the Giants cut him loose earlier this offseason when they purged a few veterans, but he’s been talking closely with the Indianapolis Colts lately, with the two sides seeming to get closer and closer to a deal. But the Patriots and Bill Belichick love their running backs and Bradshaw could step in and be the closest thing to a featured back the Patriots have seen in some time.
A contract may not be close to being agreed upon, but Belichick knows what he wants and gets it when he wants it. If Bradshaw is really on the Patriots radar, that may end up being where he lands come training camp this summer.
