The Chicago Bulls desperately needed Luol Deng in the playoffs, but the All-Star forward went down with complications following a spinal tap. Late in the Chicago’s postseason, he was either hospitalized or at home, unable to do anything physical. However, it seems he is feeling better.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Deng has recovered just enough to be able to travel to Europe.

During the playoffs, some fans questioned Deng’s toughness, despite the fact that he has always played through injuries and is one of the tougher guys in the NBA. As such, it is great to hear that Deng is feeling better after the spinal tap scare, but it’s unclear as to when he will start working out again.

Deng previously said that he plans to skip the European Championship this year. He has represented the United Kingdom almost every summer and was part of the team’s Olympic squad last year. In this year’s regular season, Deng led the league in minutes per game, and representing his nation in international competition during the summer would definitely take a toll on his body, and if anyone deserves the rest it’s Deng.
