While the Jacksonville Jaguars added another former New England Patriot to their roster in quarterback Mike Kafka, they were not the only team that placed a waiver claim on the former Northwestern star. According to multiple reports, the Dallas Cowboys also placed a claim.
While the Jags were awarded recently released QB Mike Kafka on waivers, they didn't make the only claim. Dallas put in a claim as well

At first it seems surprising that the team would be looking at quarterback options with $100 million man Tony Romo and a solid back up in Kyle Orton, but they have no real long-term option. The only other quarterbacks on the Cowboys roster are Nick Stephens and Dalton Williams.
Neither Stephens nor Williams are people that you would feel comfortable with handing a franchise to down the road, but Kafka does have that talent if he can be developed.
Unfortunately for Dallas, they lost out on their Kafka claim because of the Jaguars, who now have five intriguing quarterbacks on their roster.
