Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sign Mike Glennon to Four-Year Deal
By Josh Sanchez
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback race just got a little more interesting. As of Wednesday morning, third-round selection Mike Glennon and his rocket arm have inked a deal with the team.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
With that, the Buccaneers have signed their entire rookie class.
What will be interesting is to see if Glennon can push Josh Freeman for the starting quarterback job.
By all accounts, Freeman has looked to be in good shape during minicamps and OTAs, but there are also reports that Glennon will be given every opportunity to earn the starting job. Even if he is unable to get the starting job on day one, Glennon should be ready to jump at the opportunity if Freeman struggles early.
