There Will Be No Tim Tebow Circus in Bill Belichick’s House
By Daniel Nicks
Bill Belichick isn’t exactly a frilly guy. He’s not going to sugarcoat things, and you sure as hell won’t catch him beating around the bush. Two truths that he put on full display during the team’s recent Tim Tebow presser.
"“Like I said, we’re not going to get into a minute-by-minute evaluation of a player,” Belichick said when asked about improvements Tebow made over the last 24 hours. “I don’t think that’s the way to go, especially at this time of year.”"
Sorry, Skip Bayless. Hate to rain on your parade bud. But this isn’t New York, and Belichick certainly isn’t Rex Ryan. Fortunately Tebow seemed to get the memo, keeping his on-field interview brief and to the point.
"“It’s such an honor to be a Patriot and play for coach Belichick and coach McDaniels, and learn under Tom [Brady] and be a part of this great franchise and very successful franchise.”… “It’s going to be a lot of fun,” he said. “I’m looking forward to working hard every single day and getting a lot better and learning under some great people.”… “That’s all I got,” Tebow concluded. “Thank you all so much and God bless. I’m sure we’ll be talking more soon.”"
Good stuff. But as for that last line, “I’m sure we’ll be talking more soon.” That’s doubtful. Really, really doubtful. Welcome to Bill Belichick’s house.
