Just a few hours after announcing the release of veteran running back Willis McGahee, the Denver Broncos have agreed to terms on a four-year deal with 2013 second-round draft pick Montee Ball. Ball was drafted out of Wisconsin to become the team’s top back and that path became much clearer once McGahee was cut.

Ball is a perfect fit for the Broncos and head coach John Fox, so it will be interesting to see how he develops into the starting role at Mile High.

At Wisconsin, Ball was a work horse so he enters the league with more wear and tear than your average rookie running back, but that doesn’t seem to worry Fox and he has full confidence that it will not stop Ball from reaching his full potential and becoming a star back in the league.
