Emotions always run high during OTAs, minicamps and training camp while players are battling it out for roster spots, so it comes as no surprise when reports of fights breaking out during the workouts leading up to the season. On Wednesday, it was the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens that got a little fiery.

Offensive lineman Jah Reid and linebacker Courtney Upshaw were the two players involved in the little scuffle.

From Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun:

"Tempers flared as Upshaw and Reid locked up with Reid losing his helmet in the process while throwing several punches, most of which didn’t appear to land anywhere. The skirmish was brief as coach John Harbaugh stepped in to break it up, preventing Upshaw from throwing a punch at Reid."

Wilson also reports that  outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil and offensive tackle Michael Oher had a little mix up but no punches were thrown.

Baltimore has a lot to work on and sort out this offseason if they hope to get back to where they were just a season ago, so it’s good to clear the air and get the emotions out early so the team can focus and get to work.
