The Buffalo Bills have signed first-round pick EJ Manuel. The team surprised the NFL world when they made Manuel their first pick of the draft, but they are ready to show why they made the selection.

Terms of the deal are not available, but the Bills confirmed the news on Twitter.

Manuel has reportedly struggled throughout OTAs and minicamps, but that comes as no surprise.

The former Florida State signal-caller was believed to be a project when he entered the league, so it could still take him a bit of time to learn the ropes.

Manuel will compete with former Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb for the starting gig.

With the announcement of the EJ Manuel signing, the Bills now have their entire 2013 draft class under contract.

It will be interesting to see how Manuel responds to the early versatility in the team’s training camp and presseason. Kolb should be the favorite to earn the job at the moment, but it would not be a complete shock if the Bills first-rounder was named the starter for opening week.
