NBA Trade Rumors — Remember that deal that the Los Angeles Clippers and the Boston Celtics were supposed to make, but then the Clippers got stingy, slammed the door shut and proclaimed that the negotiations had reached their conclusion? Of course you remember. Well, it turns out the Clippers might have second thoughts and have called Boston. And no, it was not a courtesy call to Danny Ainge — according to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Clippers want to continue to talk business.

Well, that didn’t take long. If you’ve followed the NBA for a while, you know that a deal is never truly dead. It seems that the Clippers are interested in resuming discussions, but this time they will probably need to make concessions for a deal to happen.

The main hindrances of the deal have been the fact that Doc Rivers would have to be signed to a massive extension, and DeAndre Jordan would have to be paid $3.5 million for his trade kicker, and also the Clippers’ reluctance to give Boston an additional first-round pick.

According to Bill Simmons, the reason the two teams have been in contact again is because Chris Paul has been involved, and the Clippers want to cater to his needs.

It will be interesting to follow the developments and see if the two teams can get a deal done after all.
