So what are your plans today, Mr. Pollard? A phone call from NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell is probably in the mix some place.

Speaking to The Tennessean, newly signed Titans safety Bernard Pollard said the Tennessee Titans mission this year is to ‘kill’:

"Bernard Pollard has a message for himself, his new teammates and the rest of the NFL. He also has a message for anyone who might question his controversial choice of words.Written in marker on a piece of white paper and taped in his locker at Baptist Sports Park:Goal — Super BowlMission — Kill!!!"

Obviously, Pollard was simply trying to change the losing culture of the Titans locker room and the “mission” was obviously in jest, but as Kevin Garnett once learned – there are particular topics that are kept best close to the chest.

Pollard tried to explain the whole “kill” thing:

"“Our responsibility is to protect LP Field, and our responsibility is to steal wins on the road. And our responsibility is to (beat you up) as a defense, and that’s what we’re going to do on every single play. You have to have that mentality because nobody cares about the Tennessee Titans. Nobody. So you have to take the respect. That’s what we have to do. … Yeah, this team can get to the Super Bowl.”"
