Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this offseason. It started with a two-game suspension handed down from the NFL for the drug known as codeine, not to mention he would be docked four game checks total for the transgression.
Despite being in the spotlight for the wrong reasons, Gordon has continued to cause issues by partying with LeBron James of the Miami Heat after James was once again crowned an NBA champion (via Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk).
The world of social media, fans and former players certainly didn’t take kindly to Gordon’s actions.
For example, here’s former Browns center LeCharles Bentley letting Gordon have it via Twitter:
Not a good look bro, @JOSH_GORDONXII riding shotgun with champions when your team sucks makes you a scrub. I'm done... #DamnKids

Don't care who guys cheer for, that's their right. But when you're suspended and swinging from the nimrods of champions... Where is that ok?

YOU'RE suspended, YOU let YOUR team down but it's a priority to party with guys WAY out of your tax bracket... #Choices

I'd cut you, resign you, cut you again, resign you, then bench you. Ride on that float..... @JOSH_GORDONXII pic.twitter.com/NVZYQfrzKb

The 22-year-old receiver should take notice. He exploded on to the scene a year ago with over 800 receiving yards and scored a few time, but he hardly has earned the right to be drawing this much attention to himself in the offseason headed into just his second year in the league.
Gordon has all the potential in the world to develop into a No. 1 receiver and be a difference maker for the Browns. Bentley had the brass to say what a lot of folks were thinking—it’s time for Gordon to grow up, both on and off the field.
