Former Green Bay Packers linebacker Desmond Bishop was generating interest from a number of teams since his release, but the speculation is finally over after Bishop chose his new home on Monday afternoon. According to Pro Football Talk, Bishop has agreed to a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings were the first team that Bishop met with after becoming a free agent, so perhaps he was tipping his hand right from the beginning. Bishop also had some strong interest from the Kansas City Chiefs, but he decided the NFC North is the place he wanted to continue to call his home.

In the Vikings defense, Bishop could turn out to be a star.

He is a perfect fit in Minnesota and he fills a major need. If Bishop can stay healthy, then he has a real opportunity to shine in the purple and gold.

Plus, it has to be in the back of his mind that he would love to stick it to his former team.
