Although we touched on it briefly yesterday, it appears that a draft night trade is in the works between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Orlando Magic.

In the said scenario, the Clippers would trade point guard Eric Bledsoe along with Caron Butler to the Magic in exchange for Arron Afflalo.

Per Mark Heisler:

"Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler are expected to be packaged in a draft-day trade for Orlando’s Arron Afflalo, addressing the Clipper need for a shooting guard. With less likelihood of finding a high post center to clear room underneath for Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan figures to remain the starter.Meanwhile, the Clips will look for a three-point shooting power forward—a “stretch four.”"

With the Clippers acquisition of head coach Doc Rivers, it’s widely expected Chris Paul will return to Los Angeles which gives the Clippers little need for an expensive backup point guard, as Bledsoe will become eligible for a new contract at the end of the upcoming season. Caron Butler will be entering the final season of his contract and will be due $8 million dollars.

Afflalo on the other hand will have two years remaining on his deal which will pay him just under $16 million dollars. He also holds a early termination option on his third year worth $8 million dollars.
